Zone de Repli

Through this intimist series, Cédric Delsaux continues his exploration of reality in a fictional state. Strongly influenced by the Jean-Claude Romand case (a news story popularised by Emmanuel Carrère’s novel L’Adversaire, adapted to film by Nicole Garcia), he travelled widely in the region of Gex on the Swiss border for three years.

Thus, suburban landscapes with their endless parking lots and wasteland zones become – thanks to the Star Wars characters – the grandiose settings of a story in which these sites finally take pride of place.

Here to Stay

Cedric Delsaux finds true pleasure in maintaining dream and reality within the same frame. Thus, suburban landscapes with their endless parking lots and wasteland zones become – thanks to the Star Wars characters – the grandiose settings of a story in which these sites finally take pride of place. The resulting world teems with detail – it is totally real and yet absolutely false.
